The room is decorated by Entang Wiharso’s murals and sculptures where children can have a fun time by coloring
“Main Getah (Rubberscape)” by Shooshie Sulaiman
Main Getah (Rubberscape) is this Malaysia-based, first installation in Indonesia. According to the artist, “the concept of play is very crucial for adults. Nowadays, playing is about phone in hand and eyes on screen, not using the other senses. So in my opinion, it’s a different experience if you see directly, if you step on things directly. The kinds will step on this floor, directly step on leaves”
Take off your shoes, let your feet feel the rubbery ground underneath. Let your fingers play with your childhood games, and reminiscing on the youth. Teach your children to indulge the feel of nature with their hands and feet.
“Color in Cave” by Mit Jai Inn
Children would looovve this! Wet paint, crayons, what’s not to love?
Warna dalam Gua (Color in Cave) is an installation by Thailand artist, Mit Jai Inn. The installation consists of two parts inside a white tent. In the first part of the tent (the Dry Zone), you can write and color the tent with the crayons that’s been provided by the museum. While on the second part (the Wet Zone), you and your children can have fun by painting the tent by using the long stick.
Need to wear special white robe and slipper provided by the museum before stepping into the Wet Zone of the cave. The paint is acrylic paint and washable, so don’t worry if you get paint on your clothes (or face)
