Situgunung Suspension Bridge is the longest forest suspension bridge in South East Asia. Around 3 – 4 hours drive from Jakarta, you will find this hidden gem after what seems to be a long drive through Sukabumi. Perfect for a weekend getaway or a family road trip.
Best to leave Jakarta early in the morning, to avoid the hustle and bustle of the small road along Sukabumi main road.Another option to get there is if you stay overnight around Sukabumi, where you can avoid both Jakarta and most of Sukabumi traffic along the way.
If you can reach Situgunung around 8am, there is a good chance that you can walk across the suspension bridge without waiting in line. Feel the sensation from walking up so high, feels like you’re walking on the clouds. Don’t look down if you’re scared of height. Take a moment or two to take photographs when you walk on the bridge, but you might need to cut your photo session short if there are people waiting behind you.

And if the main bridge is too full for you to get a good photo, you’d still have a second chance at the red bridge. This red bridge is shorter in distance, but it sways more than the main bridge.
